THE JOB SEARCH SUCKS. STOP DOING IT.
6 months. 9 months. 15 months. 2 years. How long have you been on the job hunt? Are you exhausted yet?
The average client has been job searching for 7 months before they contact me. They have sent out hundreds of applications, dozens of networking requests, and reworked their resume at least five times. They feel broken, dejected, depressed, and their finances are dwindling by the day.
If you’re on the job hunt, you might be thinking, “I can’t get a job. No one will hire me. What’s wrong with me?” NOTHING. Nothing is wrong with you. YOU ARE FABULOUS. Everything is wrong with the job search.
Today’s job search is broken and requires more than a good resume. In order to get a job today, the average job-seeker needs four things:
✔️ Strong personal brand
✔️ Compelling resume
✔️ Optimized LinkedIn profile
✔️ An engaged network
How do you get all this? I’ve got a proven five-step process to make it happen, learn about it in the video below.
STEP 1: What do you want?
Choose a career path that honors your values and priorities. Get very clear on what type of job you want - what job title(s)? In what type of company? Which industries interest you?
STEP 2: What do your target employers want?
Who are your ideal employers, and what do they want? How does your unique blend of skills, background, and experience help them achieve their goals?
STEP 3: Personal brand
Now that you know what you want and what your target employers want, define your personal brand and share it on your resume and LinkedIn profile. Then optimize your LinkedIn profile for maximum visibility.
STEP 4: Network
Now that your resume and LinkedIn are tight, it's time to reach out to recruiters and dig deep in your network (even if you don't have one). Ideally, you find a job in this stage.
STEP 5: Job search
NOW you're ready to apply for jobs. Learn all sorts of tips and tricks to apply faster and stand out from the crowd.
I have used this five-step process to help hundreds of people land new jobs. It worked for them, and it can work for you too.
